Weekly Sessions being trialed from the beginning of May 2025 for three months

The club had been holding workshop sessions every other Saturday at its premises in Carmarthen. Sessions started  around 9am and ended around 3pm. Club members didn't have to stay for the whole session and there was no entry fee.   During the trial nothing will change except the frequeny of our meetings. Most of our weekly sessions will be workshop sessions, some might involve guest speakers or events at other locations.  Keep your eyes focused on our Facebook group to find out what is going on at each session.  For those attending a workshop session for the first time, you will be shown around our project bikes, have a chance to chat with our members and be given the opportunity to get hands on with our projects. If you don't want to get hands on, well that is not a problem. You can simply have a cuppa and chat bikes. For further details of our workshop activities please email wwmccworkshop@gmail.com or phone one of the numbers shown on our Contact Us page.

Keep your eyes peeled for updates.

The Existential Biker

Louisa Swaden AKA - The Existential Biker gave an informative talk to club members about her record breaking experiences. Louisa is a true inspiration for us all and told many fascinating tales during the meeting. Like us, she also recognises the mental health benefits that motorcycling can bring.

Click on the above picture of The Existential Biker to find out more about her.

Having obtained her motorcycle licence aged aged 24 Louisa (According to her web site) then set about taking a 24 year break from motorcycling. When she returned to it she not only set off on many adventures, she also set about becoming one of the fastest women on two wheels. For example setting four UK speed records riding at 200+ (Yes 200+) miles per hour, riding on nothing firmer than sand!

Our first trip to Non Stop Trials near Ammanford...

On Saturday May 24th 2025 a group of us tried our hand at some basic Trials riding at Non-Stop Trials, Capel Hendre near Ammanford. The weather although largely overcast generally remained dry. However, despite a long period of dry weather there had been some overnight rain and there were some surprisingly deep muddy patches to be found. I would like thank Jo Finch and Andy Wallace for bringing their own bikes to accompany our Jialonda project bike and allowing us bunch of amateurs to ride them. The Jialonda did us proud running well until the latter part of our visit when it developed a misfire. We owed the Jialonda's ability to act a little like a trial's bike to Phil James and all the work he put into adapting its frame and fabricating one off parts for it. Well done to everybody that a hand in turning the Jialonda from a bike fit for scrap into something capable of giving so much fun. It was of course more difficult to ride than the pucker trials bikes but it did a creditable job and Andy Wallace came back grinning from ear to ear after blasting the bike around the woods. It was fabulous to see the idea of converting the Jialonda become a reality. Finally we were grateful to thank Peter Flowers at Non-Stop Trials for allowing us to attend with our bikes and ride for just the cost of insurance. They have a very friendly easy-going atmosphere great for anyone thinking of giving trials a go.
I hope the attached video compilation gives a good flavour of the day.

Aberdare Park Road Races 2025

Aberdare Park Road Races is creeping up on us and is due to take place over the weekend of August 3rd and 4th. If you are interested in attending can you let me know with a comment below, so I can see if it is worth trying to negotiate a little discount for WWMCC members. It is a great road race, where else can you see bikes hurtling past the council maintained rose boarders! If you would like to come along with us please contact a committee member.
