Saturday Workshop Update for October 21st 2023
Saturday's workshop session was well attended as always and some good progress was made. Here's what happened that didn't already get posted.
Mental Health Motorbike
We were delighed to have Paul from Mental Health Motorbike join us and get stuck into the Ural 650 Clutch.
Other Stuff
Kawasaki KZ550 Limited (AKA Kermie)
No progress today.
Yamaha TX500 (AKA Hedgebike)
No progress today. The bottom end of the engine has been rebuilt and the top end overhauled. A broken piston and the need to obtain a 2nd joining link for the camchain held up progress on rebuilding the engine. When time permits work can resume on the engine. It is a project where finding all the compontents is going to prove tricky and fitting them in the right place is likely to be challenging. We love a good challenge don't we!!!
Peugeot V-Click
My favourite moped. Many hours of work eventually secured a strong enough spark to get the bike running. It has stood around for a couple of years and may need a little more fettling if we are to get it road worthy.
Honda Lead Moped
No progress today. The bike has been stripped to allow the frame etc to be cleaned up and painted and is in the throws of being reassembled.
Piaggio Velofax
I made a cylinder base gasket for this at the last session and we now have all the components to rebuild the top of the engine. The biggest challenge is going to be finding all the nuts, bolts and other components to rebuild the frame and to work out where to put them.
BSA Flying Wheel
I don't have much knowledge of this unusual creature, suffice to say I have never seen any work done on it since I have been coming to the club. Perhaps it is about time we gave it some attention.
